Career Day 10th Grade
- For Career day I shadowed Jake Belmonte, he works for the movement church in San Marcos. I currently intern with the church and spend most days working with him on projects. He runs the audio/visual team along with all of the technological things that goes on in that church. I joined him in going up to the mountains for a men’s retreat that my church was doing. He was there to do photography for social media, to run sound, to run lights, and control the overall main sanctuary room that the men were present in most of the time. I already knew what to expect when I chose to shadow the place I already after school intern and along with Jake explaining the whole plan for the weekend. During the duration of the weekend that I spent at the men’s retreat shadowing Jake around I got to interview him and ask questions such as, how did you get into this career, would you recommend this career for anyone, what is your favorite part of your work, and many more. He told me a lot about his everyday life working at a church and how he loves what he does and is proud of the things he works on and knows that it is for good. I got to learn more about him than I already knew. Like his favorite part of his job, what his dreams where, and what he plans to accomplish from working at his current job. After interviewing him and being able to talk to him more, I would definitely say I would love to go into that career that he is in. From interning there I have been very interested in technology and production and that’s what his job is all about and if i had a chance to take part in that career field I would without hesitation. For next year’s month long Internship I will definitely be spending the month interning at the Movement church. I love the office atmosphere, the family aspect, and the reason why they are working. I am very excited to pursue it through internship and I believe it’s going to be a very fun and informative time being with them.
